+ This fundraising site is new. What is up with that?

Yes! This is a new part of our Winter Sports and Music Festival. We hope to be able to raise much more with your help than we have in the past. Plus now we have a great set of rewards for those that fundraise!

+ Is it still free to attend Carve 4 Cancer

Absolutely! We will still have free live music inside the lodge and out on the snow for your entertainment. However, we are adding a paid concert with a big name headliner that WILL BE a ticketed event for those who wish to attend. The paid concert is just another exciting addition to our already awesome event!

+ How Does Registration Work?

Simply click on the REGISTER TO FUNDRAISE button to get started. After clicking, you’ll be greeted by this pop up window:

Registering as an individual:

This allows you to register without connecting to a fundraising team. You can always join or create a team at any time after registering, so if you’re unsure, choose this one.

Join a team:*

This allows you to register and join a fundraising team that’s already been created (by another teammate).

Create a team:*

This allows you to register and create a Fundraising Team that your page is automatically connected to and where your teammates can connect their individual fundraising pages as well. You do NOT have to connect to a Fundraising Team when registering.

After you make your choice from the pop-up, you’ll be brought to our ticket options. Here, you can choose your ticket type. You can register multiple fundraisers at once.

Fundraising Registration:

If you choose the CARVE 4 CANCER FUNDRAISING REGISTRATION you’ll be able to register at no cost, but you’ll be committing to making a good faith effort at fundraising to meet your goal.* If you fail to meet the fundraising minimum for your goal, but would still like to participate at the event, you’ll ONLY pay the balance of the entry fee when you check in. As soon as you complete your registration a fundraising page will be automatically set up for you and you’ll receive a series of emails that will walk you through how to customize your page as well as tips and tricks to make the most out of your fundraising efforts.

*Our average fundraiser raises more than $300, so if you put in an effort to fundraise we’re confident you’ll exceed $100 and get access to the Shred The Night Concert!

Paid Concert Ticket:

If you are not interested in fundraising but would like to attend our Shred the Night Concert and would simply like to pay an entry fee, you can choose the SHRED THE NIGHT CONCERT TICKET. Though you will be under no obligation to fundraise, a fundraising page will be created for you automatically. If you choose to try your hand at fundraising and exceed $100 raised, your entry fee will be refunded after the event.

Once you’ve chosen your tickets, simply fill out the registration form and click NEXT when done.

*If you are registering yourself, please make sure to use the same email address in all “Email” fields throughout the process.

DO NOT set up a fundraising page on ANY other platform (like Facebook, GoFundMe, etc.).

+ What is the deadline for fundraising? For perks? For awards?

We get a lot of questions about when fundraising actually “ends” and there are a few answers, so please read carefully.

FUNDRAISING PAGES

Without getting too technical, your pages will stay active for quite a while after the tournament in case someone wants to donate but can’t till next payday. You can be confident they’ll be open for weeks, if not months. We actually leave them up until Classy.org shuts them off.

FUNDRAISING AWARDS

Even though your pages stay live for quite some time, at some point I have to make the call on our top fundraisers and our top fundraising team awards. Now understand, there is no EXACT time. But the process is this: Around 4 pm, when it’s time for announcements, we will make one final check of the fundraising page and note people’s total funds raised at that moment, and the award winners are solidified. Any donations after the fact that may alter someone’s place on the leaderboard are appreciated but will not affect the awards.

FUNDRAISING PERKS

In the morning, we export a list of all fundraisers and the amount they’ve raised. Then we mark off which perk level they’ve reached. Of course, you may get a donation later in the day, or bring in donations with you that will change your total amount fundraised. That’s no problem. Once you head over to the registration table to pick up your prizes, please show the volunteer your fundraising page (you can pull it up on your phone).

FUNDRAISING TIP:

Donors love to procrastinate, love to donate at the last second, and love to get you over your goal. But if you need that extra $50 for free entry in the morning and they don’t plan to donate until Saturday evening, it’s not going to help you. So we encourage fundraisers to tell their friends and family that the deadline to donate is midnight Friday night. Of course, if you read above, you’ll know that that’s not technically true.

You can bring any cash or check donations to the check-in table on the day of the event. Please give us a heads up if you think these donations put you over a certain perk threshold.

+ What happens If I don’t reach $100 Fundraised for the Shred The Night Concert entry fee?

You’ll just pay the balance of the entry fee when you check in on the day of the event (if you still want to go), so there’s really no harm in trying!

+ What does register as an individual mean?

This allows you to register without connecting to a fundraising team. You can always join or create a team at any time after registering, so if you’re unsure, choose this one.

+ What does “Join a Team” mean?

This allows you to register and join a fundraising team that’s already been created (by another teammate). You do not have to join a fundraising team, and you can always join one after initially registering as an individual at any time.

+ What does “Create a Team” mean?

This allows you to register and create a Fundraising Team that your page is automatically connected to and where your teammates can connect their individual fundraising pages as well. You do NOT have to connect to a Fundraising Team when registering.

+ How does “Team Fundraising” work?

First thing to note is that everyone is ultimately fundraising individually. Each fundraiser (whether they choose a paid or fundraiser ticket type) is set up with their own personal fundraising page connected to their individual registration record. In order to earn any perks, including free entry, each individual must raise the required amount on their own fundraising page.

Each fundraiser has the option to link their individual page to a Team Fundraising Page. This can be done during the registration process (by choosing either “Create” or “Join a Team”) OR after registering by navigating to their fundraising page (when logged in), clicking MANAGE, and then scrolling to the bottom of their page where they’ll find a tab that says “Team Fundraising: Join or create a team”

A Team Fundraising page is a GREAT way to unite the fundraising efforts of all the fundraisers in your circle. Our best Fundraising Teams set a team goal that they try to reach as a group, get their family and friends to join in and even set up small events like happy hours and group rides to raise money. There are also perks for the amounts that a team raises like bus trips and other awards the day of the event so start or join a team!

+ How can I create or join a fundraising team while registering?

Click the REGISTER TO FUNDRAISE button on the tournament homepage and you’ll be presented with this pop-up:

Simply click “Create a Team” or “Join a Team” and follow the prompts.

How do I create a team after I have already registered?

  1. Log into your Classy.org account
  2. Navigate to your fundraising page
  3. Click MANAGE (upper right of page)

Then scroll to the bottom of your page where you’ll find a tab that says “Team Fundraising: Join or create a team”

+ Do I have to create or join a team?

You do not have to join a fundraising team, and you can always join one after initially registering as an individual at any time. Creating or joining a Fundraising Team is only relevant to those competitors who plan to fundraise.

+ I have registered multiple family members. Can we combine our fundraising efforts to just one page?

Absolutely. We encourage it, actually. Make sure to customize the fundraising page you want to focus on to reflect that it represents all the fundraisers involved (Ex: Sean and Will Brown’s Fundraising Page). We will split the fundraising efforts by how many family members are represented. So if two people’s efforts are combined to one page, we split it in half ($200 raised = $100 per person). Also, please email us at fundraise@Carve4Cancer.com by March 1st and give us a heads up that you’re doing this so we can sort out all the paperwork for check in.

+ How do the perks work?

The great thing about fundraising for The Carve 4 Cancer Winter Sports and Music Festival is that you not only get to make an impact in the fight against cancer, but you can also earn some great rewards along the way too. Truly a win/win!

The perks you earn are determined by how much you raise on your individual fundraising page. The perk levels are listed on the event homepage. They change often so we can’t list them here. We’ll have a list of who earned what perk(s) at the event, and you can pick up the rewards you’ve earned at the check in (typically the merchandise table).

The more you raise, the more perks you get! If you fail to reach the second perk level, which is free entry to the Shred the Night Concert, but would still like to attend you’ll simply pay the balance of the entry fee when you arrive.

If you’ve paid an entry fee and ultimately fundraise enough to earn free entry, we’ll refund your entry fee (after the event concludes).

Pro Tip: If the registration fee is MORE than the difference between how much you’ve fundraised and $100 (the minimum for free entry to the Shred The Night Concert), simply make a donation to your page to put you over the $100 mark.

+ How do the perks apply to Team Fundraising?

Team Fundraising has nothing to do with the perks available to individual fundraisers. To receive individual perks you must reach individual goals.

There are separate team goals for things like bus trips and trail renaming. We will be adding more so if you are starting a team email Fundraise@Carve4Cancer.com for more info!
